A follow up from World Heart Rhythm Week

By October 17, 2022No Comments

Throughout the week of 6th – 12th June we conducted routine testing on many of our patients in order to raise awareness of atrial fibrillation (AF). During the week we tested 42 patients using our Alivecor 6l Mobile ECG machine, of the 42 patients 2 were found have previously undiagnosed AF and 9 with other “abnormal” heart readings (more information can be found HERE).

As a few months have past and we have had chance to catch up the with that 11 patients whom we referred for further testing, we thought it was a good time to provide an update. The 2 previously unknown AF cases have had this confirmed and the appropriate interventions put in place. In both cases they have been put on anticoagulant therapy. Thus reducing the chance of a stroke or a heart attack. As for the other 9 patients they have all be assessed and there issue have deemed of no concern and no further action is required.

We continue to regularly use our Kardia mobile ECG machine as part of our routine assessments.
